Disneyland Railroad

All aboard…Climb aboard one of the 5 Disneyland Railroad steam-powered trains for an 18-minute journey around Disneyland Park. There are 4 stations along the route you can hop on or off anytime. Trains are scheduled to arrive every 5-10 minutes, but closer to 10 minutes during peak seasons and holidays.

The four Disneyland Railroad stations are:
• Main Street U.S.A.
• New Orleans Square
• Mickey’s Toontown
• Tomorrowland

Main Street U.S.A. station to the New Orleans Square Station is the shortest leg of the journey as well as the least scenic. Your view is the back of the Jungle Cruise and New Orleans Square.

New Orleans Square station to Mickey’s Toontown station is the most scenic as well as the newest route. During an attraction refurbishment, the track has been curved towards the Rivers of America to accommodate the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Land. Along this leg of the journey, you will see the landscapes, rock formations, wildlife, and waterfalls of America’s 4 majestic rivers: the Mississippi, the Columbia, Missouri, and the Rio Grande.

Mickey’s Toontown station to Tomorrowland station is a little less scenic leg of the journey. You pass through the “it’s a small world” façade, through the back of Tomorrowland. After that, Monorail tracks are overhead and the Autopia passes by you before entering the Tomorrowland station

Tomorrowland station to Main Street U.S.A. station, you get to experience Walt Disney’s legendary dioramas of the Grand Canyon and Primeval World. First, you pass through the Grand Canyon then on to Primeval World – Land of the Dinosaurs where huge Audio-Animatronic dinosaurs come to life.

Disneyland Railroad has 5 different steam locomotives running at any given time. Four of them are named after locomotive legends. The Ward Kimball is named after the Disney Animator who inspired Walt’s passion for the railway.

The 5 steam engines are:
• C.K. Holliday
• E.P. Ripley
• Ernest Marsh
• Fred Gurley
• Ward Kimball

Note: This attraction may close intermittently to accommodate fireworks performances.
