The Plaza Inn is a Disneyland original landmark. The Victorian-inspired Plaza Inn, originally opened in 1955 as the Red Wagon Inn, was one of Walt’s favorite eateries. The Plaza Inn provides “Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park” during breakfast hours, where you can dine with the characters. Character eating is the only breakfast choice available, and it is not free. Reservations are strongly advised due to limited capacity. Everyone is welcome to order from the lunch and supper menus on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fried chicken is the most popular specialty meal. Served with three pieces of chicken cooked to a golden brown, seasoned with special herbs and spices, mashed potatoes, buttermilk biscuit, and a vegetable medley. Pot roast, penne spaghetti with marinara or alfredo sauce, or a house salad are some other dinner options. Seasonal specialties include roasted turkey and chipotle pineapple-glazed fish. If you have room, there is also a large range of desserts.
Outdoor seating does become crowded during parades and fireworks because it provides a fantastic viewing area for both shows.
