Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is an interactive dark ride located in several Disney theme parks, including Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The ride is based on the popular Pixar movie franchise “Toy Story” and allows guests to join Buzz Lightyear on a mission to defeat the evil Emperor Zurg.
Evil Emperor Zurg is stealing batteries to power his new weapon of destruction, and it’s up to you to help defeat him. Climb in your space cruiser and join the space battle. Your objective is to use your “Astro Blaster” to shoot the lighted “Z” targets throughout the mission. Use your joystick controller to spin your space cruiser 360° to help shoot the targets. During the mission, you will earn points for the targets hit and you will be able to track your score on your space cruisers dashboard. Each guest can control their own individual blaster and accumulate points by hitting the targets, allowing you to compare your performance with others or even with riders from previous times. At the end of the mission, you will be awarded a ranking based on the score you earned. From the lowest ranking of Space Cadet up to the highest rank of Galactic Hero. You can also check your score and see a digital photo of the mission at the terminals after exiting the ride.
